3 reasons
1. He didn't make an appearance to the NAACP conference. Although this was not suprising, given that he has never attened a conference, it is dissapointing because it further alianates him from minorities. Past stats indicate how dismal suppport from the African american community is for him, with the LA times reporting that he recieved only 8% of their vot in 2000, and rose to 11% in 2004. Well our president can't change his color, he could make an effort to learn why they choose to cast their vote for the opposing canidate, Gore or Kerry. Instead he decided, or his administration decided (which makes little difference) that since he is not supported by the African American voters he doesn't have to work for them. I'm sorry but that's not the way it works. When America elects a president they elect them to represent 100% of the contry, even those people that did not (lasy bums) or could not (ill, young, prison or other).
2. This kinda piggy backs (a fallie reference for those of you that understand) the last comment, the boy scouts of America rally is second on my list. While Mr. Bush couldn't attend the NAACP conference in a while maintained environment where he would speak and talk to people prehapes achieveing greater respect between both parties, he had no problem attending the boy scout's jamboree. THis event was held for those that already support him or are in a place that they can be conditioned to support him.
3. Damn you Bolton! Why did the president think he could go above congress and make Bolton our representative. Not only was Bolton cast as the evil prince by the media but many democratic and republican congressmen (and women although very few) as well. Now America is being represented by a cowboy rough houser in one of the only places that still prefers to smoke the peace pipe (forgive the obviously racial analogy).
